Wednesday 27, 2007 the team arrived, and now Maracaibo will never be the same!
Ten missionaries came for six days (even though they had printed t-shirts that said "ten days Maracaibo"). I don't know if I've ever seen more happen in six days in my life! On Thursday and Friday we hit the campus of URBE, doing spiritual surveys and preaching the gospel one on one. Friday and Saturday nights we had two power packed outreaches and Sunday we "closed" our time with a great bible study in the morning and our first baptisms. (Watch for the pictures to come soon).
Since they were leaving early Tuesday morning I though we'd let them get some souvenirs on Monday. They declined and instead opted for going to campus again. Well as it turns out, it was our most fruitful day of the entire trip! In a flash we planned to do an open air strength show so that we could preach the gospel. After conducting two exhibitions and gathering crowds of about 250+ people each time, we saw hundreds of students indicate their desire to follow Christ and their willingness to participate in "on campus Bible Studies".
God poured out his grace on us as we stepped out in faith. We now are believing God to see strong men and women rise up to be leaders on their campus and "revolutionize" their world for Christ.
